About me
Hello, and welcome to my website.
I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist and supervisor based near Reigate, in Surrey.
I have specialised in the field of acquired brain injury (ABI) for over 20 years and draw from a rich and varied experience having worked in health, education, independent, and voluntary sectors. I have led multi-professional teams in adult and children's neurorehabilitation services and led services through transformational change. Together with colleagues at the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Centre, I co-authored the therapy resource 'The Strands of Speech and Language Therapy: Weaving a therapy plan for neurorehabilitation'. I am Chair of the Acquired Brain Injury Clinical Excellence Network (ABICEN) for speech and language therapists and a member of an advisory panel for a national children's brain injury charity.
Outside of work I enjoy family time with my children and three cats, exercise, travel, watching rugby, cooking and eating good food, and relaxing with a good book.
My services
I provide clinical and professional supervision and leadership mentoring to speech and language therapists and other Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) working in health or education. I believe access to regular supervision supports professional and personal development and ensures service users receive high quality and safe care. A compassionate and inclusive leader, I am skilled at developing individuals and building positive and cohesive teams.
In my clinical practice I specialise in working with teenagers and adults with acquired brain injury or neurological conditions. I take a holistic and person-centred approach and believe it important for therapy to focus on a person's everyday life and activities, be that at home, school, work, leisure time or social life. I aim to work in partnership with the person and those people important to them, focusing on the areas that are personally relevant, and enabling them to feel more confident and knowledgeable about managing their communication changes.
